LEARN MORE ABOUT

csu crew

Colorado State Crew briefly existed in the 80s before it dissolved due to a lack of interested athletes. We re-started in 2005 and have been consistently welcoming new athletes since! Last year we welcomed almost 40 members in the fall and we are always excited to welcome new rowers and coxswains.

Our co-ed team rows from the marina in South Inlet Bay on Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins, CO, about a 20 minute drive from campus. Our team is fairly competitive, and we take a relaxed but serious approach to rowing. Our team ranges from members who are sitting in the boat for the first time to members who rowed through all of high school as well.

Typically, we have on-water practice Monday and Wednesday mornings from 4:30-7:00am in order to work around those with 8am class, on-water practice Saturday mornings from 7-11am, and we have land practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. We also join a cross-fit gym over the winter to stay in shape and stay connected with the team between seasons. We usually compete in 5-6 regattas each year in the plains region, across the midwest.

Our mission is to provide a fun and competitive rowing experience to novice and experienced rowers at Colorado State University. We emphasize team bonding and leadership in order to create a more cohesive team and provide opportunities for growth to both the team and each of our rowers. We are excited to see new and returning faces in the Fall season!
